My dad and I have been regulars at Gold Mine for about 10 years. I love it there. A few specific things stand out: the motors on the boat always work, and the cabins are always clean. Leif is responsive to what we need and answers any questions that we might have. The views are beautiful. The falls and the gorge are fun hikes and are easily accessible with a short drive. Fishing is a secondary thing for us. We have caught some big northern pike. We had some weeks that we caught a lot of fish, and we have had weeks that have been slower than others, but that is to be expected. We usually save some time to fish for smallmouth down by the falls. Later in the season, when the water goes down a bit, my dad likes to fly fish there. If you are going for the first time, it would be good to talk to Leif on the phone to get a feel for what to bring. If I could spend the entire summer up there, I would. We plan to be up there two or three times this summer.

My grandparents started going to the Gold Mine in the 1960s. It's been our family's vacation destination my entire life. Four generations strong and still everyones favorite place to escape. Top notch fishing, offroad trails for our UTV, and breathtaking views. The complete outdoor experience when you want to get off the grid. The only wish is that we could go more often and stay longer each time! Thank you Leif and Christine, see you this fall.

This place has the best fishing in Minnesota for pike. I have also caught walleye and smallmouth bass here. Every time we are able to fish here we get into several big fish. *****fish next to the weeds!********

Great place. Been their several times hunting and fishing. Always had a great time. Looking forward to going back. Lief always makes you feel welcome. Only problem he's a Viking fan. Should be a Colts fan. Lol

My fiance and I were having a stressful month. Randomly, we saw Gold MineCamp on Groupon and decided we needed to get way and this would be perfect (the price was great too). Let m tell you, we are SO happy we went!! I was great!!! Leif and Jerry go above and beyond for their customers!! I have been to some fancy places but they definitely top any place when it comes to service. Cabin was amazing. It was a great size and had everything you needed! No cell service at all! You have to drive 45 min just to get a bar or two (which was relaxing). Our Groupon allowed us a daily boat rental and the boats were awesome. You can definitely catch some big fish! Jerry caught a Northern and asked if we wanted it! It was delicious! We highly recommend this place if you want to get away from everything for a bit and relax. Worth every cent! We will definitely be back!
